Genelee Copus

	Genelee Copus, 71, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at her residence.
	Genelee was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Cross Baptist Church at Pinckneyville.  She had worked at several different factories.  She enjoyed cooking, canning and quilting.  She and her husband, Boyd, both enjoyed gardening, traveling, hosting family reunions and spoiling their grandchildren.  They had foster-parented several nieces and nephews.
	She was born July 18, 1929 at Reyno, Arkansas, the daughter of Luther and Mable (Reifsteck) Hart.  She married Boyd E. Copus on April 9, 1955 at St. Louis, Missouri and he survives.
	She is survived by her husband of Pinckneyville, three sons- David Lee Copus and wife Pat of Brownsville, Kentucky, Darrel Earl Copus and wife Carolyn of Tamaroa, Ira Luther Copus and wife Rachel of Pinckneyville, three sisters- Lena Emmons of St. Louis, Missouri, Lorene Jones of Belleville, Ruth Melton of Tamaroa, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters.
	Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 6 at the Cross Baptist Church at Pinckneyville with Rev. Bert Mitchell and Rev. Wilber Franklin officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa and from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church on Sunday.  Interment was in the Concord Cemetery at Rice.
